The labrys is a double headed axe used as a lesbian symbol due to its association with goddesses of the ancient Minoan religion. The black triangle represents the symbol used by the Nazis for people they considered “anti-social”, including lesbians. Purple features due to the violet flower featuring in a poem by lesbian poet, Sappho.
